Dr David Kelly inquest could reopen
7:19pm Monday 5th April 2010The investigation into the death of scientist Dr David Kelly could be reopened if the Conservatives win the General Election, it was reported last night.
Shadow Justice Secretary Dominic Grieve said the public has “not been reassured” the weapons expert committed suicide near his home in Southmoor, near Abingdon, in 2003.
Shortly before his death Dr Kelly had been exposed as the source of a BBC report which questioned the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
Mr Grieve said: “Should the Conservative Party form a Government at the next election I will look into the matter of Dr Kelly’s death to establish whether more information should in fact be released to the public.”
Never thought I'd find a reason to root for a win by the Conservatives, but finding justice for this man would be one.
" . . . to establish whether more information should in fact be released to the public." - Cue X-Files theme song!
